Principal's Corner

Welcome to Riverview Elementary/Middle School

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Riverview Elementary/Middle School: ”A Place Where Great Things Happen”.  Although we are the largest elementary school in the district, our dedicated staff is committed to meeting the individual needs of all the students and we strive to maintain personal connections with their families.

We are so proud of the hard work and accomplishments of our students and faculty at REMS.  As professional educators we recognize that improving our school is a continual process that never ends.  We affirm our commitment  to working together and setting high standards and expectations not only for our students, but also for our administration team, faculty, and staff at REMS.

The new school year brings many new faculty members, students, and staff to REMS.  We are excited about the changes and new additions to our Riverview Family and welcome the creativity and  enthusiasm each individual  will bring to our school.  We are thrilled with the results of the school improvements we were able to accomplish over the summer as a recipient of the "Lowes School Improvement Grant".  We have incorporated two greenhouses for outdoor learning centers and projects as well as updated the Middle School Break area.

We are eagerly planning activities and programs for the upcoming school year. We will continue our annual book theme project that we began last year based on REMS’s  2016-2017 BOOK OF THE YEAR “Only One You” written by Linda Kranz. This year REMS's 2017-2018 book of the year is "You be You" written by Linda Kranz We will be planning events and activities throughout the year to unite our entire PK-8th grade student body, faculty, and community all centered around the book theme.

We look forward to the new school year!  We encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns you have about the education of your child. It is our desire to see fully involved the parents, faculty, staff and community in order to attain our goals.

We will work hard to see that your child gets the best education possible.  Thank you for allowing the administration, faculty, staff at REMS to be part of your child’s education.

With warm regards,

Kim Hess, Elementary Principal PreK-5th Grade
